Training Module on ‘Reformed Multilateralism’ for Diplomats from the DR by the SSIFS

New Delhi – On Wednesday 16th June 2021, the Sushma Swaraj Institute of Foreign Service (SSIFS), Ministry of External Affairs of India, conducted an online Special Training Module on ‘Reformed Multilateralism’ for Diplomats from the Dominican Republic (DR). This training was the result of a joint collaboration between the Dominican Republic Embassy in New Delhi, the SSIFS and the Institute of Higher Education in Diplomatic & Consular Training of the Dominican Republic (INESDYC),

With over 70 participants from the INESDYC and the Dominican Republic Foreign Service, the programme was inaugurated by Amb. J.S. Mukul, Dean (SSIFS), and Dr. José Espaillat, Dean (INESDYC). Retired Ambassadors from India addressed the participants, on the aforementioned topic, with Dominican Counterparts commenting on their addresses.

During his closing words Ambassador Puig expressed that “the tightening of the bonds between diplomatic academies is of utmost importance to improve crucial qualities and skills among diplomats and for the mutual understanding of our national positions in the international arena”.

On the 3rd October 2017 both diplomatic schools signed an MoU that set a framework to conceive joint activities and foster exchanges. In 2019, a Special Course for Diplomats from the Dominican Republic was organised by SSIFS in New Delhi, with the participation of 13 diplomats.
