Consular Jurisdiction - The nationals from the following countries can apply for a visa at the Consular Section of our Embassy:

 
  • Republic of India

  • People's Republic of Bangladesh

Having completed all the requirements demanded below, DOES NOT IMPLY AN APPROVAL OF THE VISA, but indicates that the consulate can accept your request, evaluate it and send it to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who will issue a final decision.

The consular officer cannot decide whether or not to grant you a Visa until you formally request and your application is evaluated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Therefore, we strongly advise you to do not purchase non-refundable airline tickets or make other travel plans until you receive your visa.

Tourism Visa

Fee: Single Entry- US$100 (INR 8400)

Processing time- 21 working days

Important: Applicants in possession of a valid multiple entry visa for USA, Canada, UK or Schengen countries may obtain a tourist card upon arrival, if traveling for tourism purposes only.

Checklist - Documents Requirement for - Tourist Visa

  1. Original passport with a minimum validity of 6 months, color copy of the bio-date page, valid visas and expired visa (if available).

  2. Visa application form duly filled and signed by the applicant.

  3. One high resolution passport size photograph, white background, 4*5 centimetres. Digital file is required in JPG format- high resolution.

  4. Police Clearance Certificate (PCC)

    - The PCC must not be older than one year at the time of submission.

    - Must be accompanied by a certified Spanish translation.

    For Indian nationals: the certificate must be issued by the Ministry of External Affairs and duly apostilled.

    For nationals of other countries: the certificate must be issued by the competent authorities of the respective country and attested by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

  5. Signed Cover Letter from the Applicant/Company

    A signed cover letter must be submitted by the applicant or the company, clearly explaining the purpose of the travel.

    - The original document must be accompanied by a certified Spanish translation.

    The cover letter must include the following information:

    Number of Travelers:
    Clearly indicate the total number of individuals traveling.

    Employee Positions:
    List the names, passport numbers, and job titles of each traveler, along with a brief description of their roles within the company.
    Example: 

    - Name: [Full Name]

    - Passport No.: [Passport Number]

    - Position: [Job Title]

    - Purpose of Travel:
    Provide a detailed explanation of the purpose of the visit. Include specifics about the services the employees will provide to their counterparts in the Dominican Republic, such as: training, technical assistance, consulting, project management, etc.

    Visa Category:
    Clearly state the type of visa requested for each traveler. Indicate whether a single-entry or multiple-entry visa is required, based on the duration and frequency of travel necessary for the assignment.

    Expenses borne by the company:
    Specify the individual or organization responsible for covering the travel-related expenses. Include a brief outline of what costs will be covered (e.g., airfare, accommodation, meals, local transport, etc.).

    - Expenses borne by individual

    Official bank statements from the last three (3) months.

    These documents must clearly demonstrate the applicant's ability to financially support their travel and stay in the Dominican Republic.

  6. Invitation Letter:

    A letter from Company/ institution/friend/relative in the Dominican Republic.

    The letter must include the following:

    Applicant Details
    Clearly state the names, passport numbers, and job titles of all individuals traveling.
    Example:

    - Name: [Full Name]

    - Passport No.: [Passport Number]

    - Position: [Job Title]

    Purpose of Invitation
    Provide a detailed explanation of the services the employee(s) will provide during their stay, such as: training, technical assistance, consulting, project management, etc.

    Visa Category Requested
    Indicate the visa type being requested for each individual — single-entry or multiple-entry — depending on the length and frequency of travel required for their professional tasks.

    Responsibility for Expenses
    Specify who will be financially responsible for the visit — whether the inviting company, a third party, or the applicants themselves. Include a clear breakdown of covered expenses (travel, accommodation, daily expenses, etc.).

    The invitation letter must be written in Spanish, notarized, and legalized by the Procuraduría General de la República Dominicana.

    The letter must also include the following mandatory legal clause:

“Garantizo que (nombre, nacionalidad y pasaporte), no permanecerá en la República Dominicana más tiempo que el concedido por la Dirección General de Migración, ni solicitará residencia o cambio de estatus migratorio desde el territorio dominicano, dedicándose exclusivamente a la actividad por la cual le fue otorgado el visado. Me hago moral y económicamente responsable de su retorno a su país de origen, asumiendo pagar a favor del Estado Dominicano cualquier gasto en que dicha persona pueda incurrir durante su estancia en el país, o que se origine como consecuencia de su repatriación o deportación del mismo.” 

For attending personal events:

- A letter from relative duly signed by the invitee.

- ID of the invitee.

- Event confirmations such as hotel bookings.

9. Requirements from Guarantor:

 -  If the guarantor is a Dominican national:

o  A clear copy of their Dominican National ID (Cédula).

o  A copy of their valid passport.

-  If the guarantor is not a Dominican national:

o  A copy of the document proving legal status in the Dominican Republic (e.g., residence permit or valid visa).

o  A copy of their valid passport.

o  A copy of their Dominican National ID (Cédula).

10. Documents demonstrating economic solvency covering the expenses during their visit:

Bank Reference Letter:

o  Must include the date the account was opened, the average annual balance maintained, and the date of the most recent deposit.

o  A certified Spanish translation of this letter must accompany the original document.

Bank Statements: Last three (3) months of statement.

Business Visa

Fee: Single Entry- US$150 (INR 12600)

Multiple Entry- US$200 (INR 16800)

Processing time- 21 working days

  7. Requirements from Guarantor:

    - If the guarantor is a Dominican national:

    o  A clear copy of their Dominican National ID (Cédula).

    o  A copy of their valid passport.

    - If the guarantor is not a Dominican national:

    o  A copy of the document proving legal status in the Dominican Republic (e.g., residence permit or valid visa).

    o  A copy of their valid passport.

    o  A copy of their Dominican National ID (Cédula).

    In all cases, if the guarantor represents a company:

    A copy of the Registro Mercantil (Commercial Registration) of the company registered in the Dominican Republic.

Dependent Visa

Fee: US$150

Processing Time: Minimum 21 working days

Checklist - Documents Requirement for - Dependent Visa

  1. Original passport with a minimum validity equal, or greater, to the duration of the visa requested.

  2. Visa application form duly filled and signed by the applicant.

  3. One recent passport size photograph, white background, 4*5 centimetres, duly pasted on application.

  4. Travel Itinerary and hotel reservation. No confirmed booking nor air ticket required.

  5. Cover letter from the applicant explaining the purpose of their trip. (A courtesy translation in Spanish is mandatory)

  6. Documents showing economic solvency:

    • Bank letter stating date of opening of an account, annual average balance maintained during the year, date of last deposit in the account or bank certificates.

    • Bank statement-last 3 months.

  7. Original passport, copy of the bio-data page and copy of valid visas pages.

  8. Invitation letter by guarantor - Applicant must attach an invitation letter in Spanish which should be notarized and legalized by Procuraduría General de la República Dominicana along with a copy of the Dominican ID (Cédula) or residence Status of the Guarantor/Invitee. Also, the letter must include the following clause:

    “Garantizo que (nombre, nacionalidad y pasaporte), no permanecerá en la República Dominicana más tiempo que el concedido por la Dirección General de Migración, ni solicitará residencia o cambio de estatus migratorio desde el territorio dominicano, dedicándose exclusivamente a la actividad por la cual le fue otorgado el visado. Me hago moral y económicamente responsable de su retorno a su país de origen, asumiendo pagar a favor del Estado Dominicano cualquier gasto en que dicha persona pueda incurrir durante su estancia en el país, o que se origine como consecuencia de su repatriación o deportación del mismo”.

  9. Police clearance certificate (PCC) emitted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the respective Apostille (if applicable). PCC should not be older than 1 year and a certified translation in Spanish is mandatory.

  10. Copy of the valid documents of the Guarantor emitted by the authorities of the Dominican Republic, such a copy of the Resident card and copy of the passport.

  11. Medical certificate which includes a general health diagnostic of the applicant, indicating whether he or she suffers from any type of infectious disease. This certificate must be issued by a relevant health authority, medical laboratory, clinic or hospital registered by the Ministry of Public Health.

  12. Birth Certificate-duly apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (a certified translation in Spanish is mandatory).

  13. Marriage certificate-duly apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (a certified translation in Spanish is mandatory).

Student Visa

Fee: US$100

Processing Time: Minimum 21 working days

Checklist - Documents Requirement for - Student Visa

  1. Original passport with a minimum validity of 18 months.

  2. Visa application form duly filled and signed by the applicant.

  3. One recent passport size photograph, white background, 4*5 centimetres, duly pasted on application. 

  4. Travel Itinerary and hotel reservation. No confirmed booking nor air ticket required.

  5. Cover letter from the applicant explaining the purpose of their trip. (A courtesy translation in Spanish is mandatory)

  6. Financial support from the person or entity that will cover the studies. This can be demonstrated by providing these documents: 

    • Documents showing economic solvency by Parents or Guardians. For example: 

      • Bank letter stating date of opening of an account, annual average balance maintained during the year, date of last deposit in the account or bank certificates.

      • Bank statement-last 3 months.

    • Document accrediting the scholarship from the institution that will pay for the studies. 

      *These documents must specify the amount of financial support or scholarship awarded, as well as the duration for which it has been provided. In both cases, this record must be written on letterhead and certified by the corresponding institution, duly translated into Spanish, legalized or apostilled as appropriate.

  7. Original passport, copy of the bio-data page and copy of valid visas pages.

  8. Birth Certificate-duly apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (A certified translation in Spanish is mandatory)

  9. Police clearance certificate (PCC) emitted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the respective Apostille (if applicable). PCC should not be older than 1 year and a certified translation in Spanish is mandatory.

  10. Medical certificate which includes a general health diagnostic of the applicant, indicating whether he or she suffers from any type of infectious disease. This certificate must be issued by a relevant health authority, medical laboratory, clinic or hospital registered by the Ministry of Public Health.

  11. Certification of acceptance by the University and / or institution in the Dominican Republic:

    • New University admission.

    • Religious: Letter of request from the highest-ranking superior in your church, indicating that you are coming to study religious / theological studies within your recognized congregation in the country.

    • Internship: Copy of the agreement between the foreign study center and the Dominican institution. 

Work Visa

Fee: Multiple Entry- US$200 (INR 16800)

Processing time- Minimum 21 working days

7. Requirements from Guarantor:

-  If the guarantor is a Dominican national:

o  A clear copy of their Dominican National ID (Cédula).

o  A copy of their valid passport.

- If the guarantor is not a Dominican national:

o  A copy of the document proving legal status in the Dominican Republic (e.g., residence permit or valid visa).

o  A copy of their valid passport.

o  A copy of their Dominican National ID (Cédula).

In all cases, if the guarantor represents a company:

o   A copy of the Registro Mercantil (Commercial Registration) of the company registered in the Dominican Republic.

Bank solvency of the company in Dominican Republic.

8. A formal job offer or work contract issued by the invitee company in the Dominican Republic, which has been duly submitted to the Ministry of Labour of the Dominican Republic and bears the Ministry's acknowledgment stamp.

9. Certificate by the Ministry of Labour of Dominican Republic indicating that the company is registered with Integrated Registration System Labor (SIRLA), and in compliance with the provisions of Article 135 of the Dominican Labour Code (nationalization of the work) (not older than 3 months).

10. Certificate by the Ministry of Labour of Dominican Republic indicating the date of joining, designation, salary and any additional benefits from the company.

11. Medical certificate which includes a general health diagnostic of the applicant, indicating whether he or she suffers from any type of infectious disease. This certificate must be issued by a relevant health authority, medical laboratory, clinic or hospital registered by the Ministry of Public Health.

12. Birth Certificate-duly apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (a certified translation in Spanish is mandatory).

13. Education documents of the applicant

Certificates or diplomas of the applicant in relation to the job offer.

Residence Visa

Fee: US$200

Processing Time- Minimum 21 working days

Checklist - Documents Requirement for - Resident Visa by Family Reunification

  1. Original passport with a minimum validity of 18 months.

  2. Visa application form duly filled and signed by the applicant.

  3. One recent passport size photograph, white background, 4*5 centimetres, duly pasted on application. 

  4. Travel Itinerary and hotel reservation. No confirmed booking nor air ticket required.

  5. Cover letter from the applicant explaining the purpose of their trip. (A courtesy translation in Spanish is mandatory)

  6. Documents showing economic solvency:

    • Bank letter stating date of opening of an account, annual average balance maintained during the year, date of last deposit in the account or bank certificates.

    • Bank statement-last 3 months.

  7. Original passport, copy of the bio-data page and copy of valid visas pages.

  8. Checklist - Documents Requirement for - Resident Visa by Retirement

  1. Original passport with a minimum validity of 18 months.

  2. Visa application form duly filled and signed by the applicant.

  3. One recent passport size photograph, white background, 4*5 centimetres, duly pasted on application. 

  4. Cover letter from the applicant, dully signed, addressed to the corresponding consular office, containing the name, nationality, place of residence, productive activity, income source, in which he / she engages, as well as information on how he plans to establish himself in the country as an investor. This letter is does not need to be legalized nor apostilled.

  5. Birth Certificate duly apostilled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. (A certified translation in Spanish is mandatory).

  6. Police clearance certificate (PCC) emitted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the respective Apostille (if applicable). PCC should not be older than 1 year, issued by the competent authorities of the countries where you have resided in the last 5 years, duly legalized or apostilled and a certified translation in Spanish is mandatory.

  7. Certificate emitted by the government, official body or private company of foreign origin which contains the general data of the applicant, time spent in the company, position held and the amount received as pension. This certificate must be translated into Spanish by a judicial interpreter, and dully legalized or apostilled.

  8. In order to benefit from the preferential regime established in Law 171-07, Pensioners or Retirees and Foreign Rentiers must receive a monthly income according to the following scale: The minimum amount of income for the Pensioner is US $ 1,500.00 dollars or its equivalent in Dominican pesos.

    In addition, the amount of 500 USD for each dependent.

  9. Medical certificate which includes a general health diagnostic of the applicant, indicating whether he or she suffers from any type of infectious disease. This certificate must be issued by a relevant health authority, medical laboratory, clinic or hospital registered by the Ministry of Public Health.

  10. Copy of any other visas, valid or expired.

Important! Once in Dominican territory Recipients of Residence Visas (RS) have a period of 30 days to appear before the General Directorate of Migration (DGM) to formalize the procedures of their residence or temporary permit. The will have to complete the additional requirements according to the Regulations for the application of the General Migration Law No. 285-04.
