DGMAPS and CDSCO agree to sign a Memorandum of Understanding in the field of pharmaceuticals regulation

New Delhi –  On 12th April 2022,  Mr. Leandro Villanueva, Director of the General Directorate for Medicine, Food and Sanitary Products of the Dominican Republic (DIGEMAPS) held a meeting with Dr. Rubina Bose, Deputy Drugs Controller, at the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) of India. This meeting was coordinated by the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in India, at the request of DIGEMAPS.

The representative of both institutions agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim of establishing a medical products regulation dialogue and a cooperation framework in regards to pharmaceuticals products.

Previous to the meeting between DIGMAPS and CDSCO, DGMAPS Director, Leandro Villanueva, held a virtual meeting on 15th March 2022 with the Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil), in which both institutions agreed to share relevant information to facilitate the registration process of Indian medicines and medical devices in the Dominican Republic. Mr. Udaya, Director General, Ms. Lakshmi Prasanna, Director-Regulatory Affairs, and Mr. Rollins John, represented Pharmexcil during this meeting.
