NEW DELHI - Twelve Dominican companies participated at the “India-LAC Cooperation in Ayurveda” platform and networking event, organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) in collaboration with the Department of Commerce of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, which took place from the 27th to the 29th of January 2022. Their participation was coordinated by the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in India.

Ayurveda is a booming sector in the Indian Economy. “India-LAC Cooperation in Ayurveda” aimed to offer a stage for healthcare and wellness product manufacturers, exporters, traders, service providers from both the regions, to form alliances. The event had three main components: focused industry interactions between India and LAC regions, a 3-day virtual exhibition, available 24 hours, and B2B meetings.

The interest shown by Dominican companies in the “India-LAC Cooperation in Ayurveda” event indicates the potential in this sector for synergies between India and the Dominican Republic. In order to explore possible areas of cooperation in education, research and trade in the field of Ayurveda  Ambassador David Puig held a meeting with the Union Minister of AYUSH of the Government of India, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, on the 7th of September 2021.
