ProDominicana and the NFZC present investment opportunities in the DR

New Delhi - On the 13th of May 2022, the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in India hosted the online event "Dominican Republic Investment Opportunities: Manufacturing and Logistic Hub", which focused on showcasing investment opportunities available in the Dominican Republic in the areas of textile, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals. The event was coordinated in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil). 

Mr. Marcial Smester, Director of foreign investments of ProDominicana, and Ms. Silvia Cochón, Director of promotion of exports at the National Free Zone Council, underlined Dominican Republic's political stability and business-friendly climate. They also presented the benefits of investing in free zones and the financial incentives for the manufacturing of textiles, pharmaceuticals and medical devices in the Dominican Republic.

In his introductory remarks H.E David Puig, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic in India, stressed the importance of organizing events focused on spotlighting sectors in which the Dominican Republic has the potential to attract Indian businesses and investors interested in taking advantage of the Dominican government's incentives and the country's strategic location.

Mr. Praful Talera, member of the CII and prominent Indian businessman with over 35 years of experience in supply chain management in the Asian region, served as the moderator for the event which was attended by more than fifty CEOs and businessmen from India.
