India announce the designation of H.E. Rammu Abbagi as its first resident Ambassador to the Dominican Republic


New Delhi - On the 11th October 2021, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) of India announced the appointment of Mr. Ramu Abbagani (IFS:2001)  as Ambassador of India to the Dominican Republic. Presently Joint Secretary at the MEA, Ramu Abbagani will be the first resident Ambassador of India in Santo Domingo. 

Following the announcement, H.E. David Puig, Ambassador of the Dominican Republic in India, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Ramu Abbagani. On behalf of the Dominican government, Ambassador Puig extended all his support to his Indian counterpart, who will be in charge of the establishment of the Indian Mission in the Dominican Republic. 

Both diplomats also took the occasion to exchange on the state of the bilateral relations and to share ideas on ways to enhance the cooperation, trade and investment partnerships between their two countries. 

To expand: Shri Ramu Abbagani appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Dominican Republic.
