Conference on the “Bagavadagita” by Dr. Òscar Pujol 

New Delhi –  The renowned Spanish scholar Dr. Oscar Pujol delivered on Wednesday 24th November an on-line lecture on the Bagavadagita, attended by an audience of over fifty yoga practitioners and Indian enthusiasts in the Dominican Republic.

In his introductory remarks, Ambassador David Puig stressed the importance of Indian culture,  philosophy and traditional knowledge systems in the exchanges between India and the rest of the world. 

Dr. Pujol started his reflexions on the Bagavadagita by stressing the historical importance of this book, commented by generations of scholars in India and abroad.  His reading of the text focussed on the concept of Karma Yoga, also known as Yoga of action.  

Dr. Pujol is one of the most respected Sanskrit scholars of the Spanish speaking world. His numerous works include a Spanish-Sanskrit and a Catalan-Sanskrit dictionary. He has translated from Sanskrit to Spanish theYogasutraof Patanjali and is presently working on a translation of theBagavadagita. Presently, Dr. Pujol is the Director of the Instituto Cervantes in New Delhi, an institution he helped establish and launch in 2007.
