H.E. David Puig takes part in the inauguration of JMI new BA in Spanish and LATAM Studies

NEW DELHI - On Friday 5th November, H.E. David Puig was invited as a special guest to the inauguration of the BA (Hons) in Spanish and Latin American Studies of the Centre for Spanish and Latin American Studies (CSLAS) of the Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University in New Delhi. 

Held in virtual mode, the event was addressed by Prof. Najma Akhtar, Vice Chancellor of JMI, Prof. Mohammad Assaduddin, Dean Faculty of Humanities and Languages, Prof. Sonya Surabhi Gupta, Honorary Director CSLAS, and Dr. Noorin Khan, Coordinator of the BA (Hons) in Spanish and Latin American Studies. 

The newly launched BA is the fourth undergraduate program in Delhi dedicated to Spanish and Latin American Studies. Ambassador Puig praised the initiative and welcomed the students. “In a year in which  so many schools and universities have remained shut for months, we are happy to be together for the launch of a program that celebrates contact, sharing and interactions between cultures”, he stated. He also expressed his desire to collaborate with JMI to enrich, through cultural exchanges, the work of the Centre for Spanish and Latin American Studies.
