Bartolomé Pujals, director of OGTIC, work visit to Delhi and Bangalore


New Delhi - Mr. Bartolome Pujals, Director of the Dominican Government Office for Information & Communication Technology (OGTIC) and Executive Director of the Cabinet of Innovation of the Dominican Republic, participated in the 23rd Edition of IndiaSoft2023 and Electronics Expo 2023, organized by the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council of India (ESC). During the event, which took place in New Delhi from the 27th to the 29th March, 2023, Mr. Pujals, accompanied by Ms. Cindy Giugni, from the Cabinet of Innovation of the Dominican Republic, held meetings with several distinguished IT companies, to explore the possibility of collaborations with the Dominican government.  

During his time in New Delhi, Mr. Pujals also held a meeting with the head of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation Program (ITEC), Ms. Abhilasha Joshi, Joint Secretary DPA II of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, to discuss possible areas of cooperation.  Furthermore, Mr. Pujals exchanged with Mrs. Urvashi Prasad, Director of the National Institute for Transforming India (NITI Aayog). The meeting was organised to identify routes of collaboration between the renowned think tank, and the Cabinet of Innovation of the Dominican Republic. The discussions focussed on the Atal Innovation Mission scheme.

In order to get acquainted with the start-up, entrepreneurial and IT ecosystems of Karnataka, Mr. Pujals travelled to the city of Bangalore, where he met with Mr E.V. Ramana Reddy, additional secretary of the department of commerce and industry and electronics, IT&BT, science and technology. Both spoke about ways to bring Karnataka and the Dominican Republic closer. During his visit to Bangalore, Mr. Pujals also visited the Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Technology Park (ARTPark), the NSRCEL at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM-Bangalore), the Electronics City Industrial Township Authority (ELCITA) and the Machine Intelligence & Robotics Center for Excellence of the International Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-B) of Bangalore.
