DGCINE participates in the Indian International Film Tourism Conclave in Mumbai

New Delhi- The General Directorate of Cinema of the Dominican Republic (DGCINE) participated in the Indian International Film Tourism Conclave (IITFTC) held in Mumbai, India, from October 13-15, 2023. The presence of DGCINE at IITFC with its own stand, co-sponsored by our mission, marked a pivotal step in promoting the Dominican Republic's film industry and fostering connections with key stakeholders in the Indian film sector.

The DGCINE delegation included Ms. Jennifer Lara, responsible for planning and development, along with First Secretary Bianca Báez Pearson from our mission. During the event, the delegation engaged in approximately 25 meetings with representatives from various companies showing interest in exploring the Dominican Republic as a destination for film production and shooting. Noteworthy among these companies were: Picture Perfect, Meenakshi Cinemas, Zee Studios, Lakshka Media etc.

Ms. Jennifer Lara participated in the panel discussion titled "Around the World in 30 Minutes”. This panel facilitated a dialogue among various film commissions, discussing the facilities and incentives offered in their respective destinations. Ms. Lara effectively highlighted the offerings and advantages the Dominican Republic presents to the global film industry.
